Strengthen your bond, improve communication, and build a healthier relationship with your partner.

Couples Therapy / Marriage Counseling

Do you feel unheard, misunderstood or invalidated? Couples therapy is a form of counseling that is designed to help couples improve their relationship and resolve conflicts. Whether you are experiencing communication issues, trust issues, or other challenges in your relationship, couples therapy can provide you to share in a safe space and give each other a chance to hear and to be heard.

During couples therapy, we will help you identify the underlying issues that are causing problems in your relationship and will provide you with strategies to address these issues. You will also learn effective communication skills, problem-solving techniques, and ways to build trust and intimacy in your relationship.

FAQ – Couples Therapy / Marriage Counseling
What happens if one of us doesn’t feel comfortable with the therapist or the therapy process?

It’s important that both partners feel comfortable with the therapist and the therapy process. Each partner should have a “buy-in” into therapy. It is the therapist’s responsibility to make each partner feel comfortable and safe to share. If you still don’t feel comfortable after discussing your concerns, we can arrange for you to speak with another therapist who is a better fit for you.

How can we make the most out of our couples therapy sessions?

To make the most out of your couples therapy sessions, it’s important to come prepared, be open and honest with us and each other, and practice the skills and strategies you learn outside of therapy. It’s also important to stay committed to the therapy process, even if progress may not be immediate or linear.

How can we set and achieve goals for ourselves in couples therapy, and what are realistic expectations for therapy outcomes?

Setting and achieving goals is an important part of couples therapy. We can help you identify specific goals that you want to work on as a couple, such as improving communication, building trust, or resolving conflicts. We can also help you develop a plan to achieve these goals and provide you with guidance and support along the way. It’s important to have realistic expectations for therapy outcomes. Couples therapy’s success is not measured by whether the relationship sustains itself or not, a realistic goal is to learn new ways to hear, see, and understand your partner.

We are members of the LGBTQIA+ community, can we still do couples therapy?

Yes, absolutely! We are committed to providing an inclusive and affirming environment for all clients, and we welcome individuals and couples of all orientations, genders, and identities. We understand that each person and relationship is unique, and we tailor our therapy approach to meet your individual needs and goals. We care about your preferred pronouns!
